Dolce & Gabbana fall 2013 collection
Each season the Dolce & Gabbana creates a glamorous and high-end collection that always has a huge impact on the global fashion scene. This wasn’t different even this year, for the fall of 2013. The famous and controversial designer pair got help from the Catholic Church and history both literally and for real. The inspiration for this magnificent collection was the Cathedral Monreale of Sicily and its golden mosaics and the figures of saints. Also, since the baroque was the main inspiration for the whole year in the fashion world, this style stood in the center of the line as well.
The colors used like the cardinal red, dark brown, grey with the combination of a mélange of neutrals brought out the theme of the collection more. The lace gets along with the sequin, metallic and the gold embellishments of the blazer’s hem. The icons, the colors and the fabrics truly mirror the majestic times of the Baroque era and that part of the Sicilian history that the designers wanted to reproduce and bring back.
Next to the royalty worth frocks and dresses, the audience can also find a Sicilian Baroque eyewear collection for men and women and a Sicily bag line that is characterized by its clean and versatile lines.
